Mentavi Health and ADHD Online Announce New Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Barry Herman Brings a Wealth of Mental Health Services Experience to ADHD Online Patients

ADHD Online and its parent company, Mentavi Health, are proud to announce that Barry Herman, M.D., has joined Mentavi and ADHD Online as Chief Medical Officer to help provide our customers with the best possible virtual ADHD assessments and patient care plans.

Dr. Herman will support ADHD Online and Mentavi’s current leadership in their focus on patient-centered, comprehensive telehealth and virtual care. He brings deep clinical expertise along with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Herman began his career in clinical practice, then grew to clinic management. He now looks forward to guiding and interacting with other clinicians to make an impact on ADHD Online patient care. His experience and reputation will allow ADHD Online to expand our reach and impact more patients.

With interests in psychiatric administration and management, healthcare policy and psychopharmacological research, Dr. Herman believes expanding access to mental health services is critical to tackling the lack of access most Americans face. With a background as a psychiatrist, he will be instrumental in accelerating Mentavi’s move into covering additional conditions and co-morbidities related to ADHD.

Dr. Herman’s background in clinical and pharmaceutical operations will help support ADHD Online’s efforts to expand patient care while maintaining the highest quality and diligence at every stage of the patient journey. Dr. Herman’s experience and talents will improve how we serve our patients and the value we deliver.

Dr. Herman’s leadership in the creation of clinical diagnosis standards for binge eating disorder highlights another type of expertise and experience he brings to Mentavi Health.

“Binge eating disorder, or BED, is a devastating mental illness, frequently associated with other psychiatric conditions, serious health problems, and higher rates of suicide,” Dr. Herman says. “It is just as prevalent as bipolar disorder but even less recognized and diagnosed in clinical settings. Surveys have repeatedly shown a lack of awareness of BED, especially in primary care settings where patients are often first seen. People with BED frequently know that something is wrong with them, and they are miserable and desperate for help.”

Mentavi Health and ADHD Online leaders are thrilled that Dr. Herman has brought his experience and talents to both companies.

“We’re delighted to have Dr. Herman on our team,” says Keith Brophy, CEO of Mentavi

Health. “His extensive leadership and clinical background make him a perfect fit for our company culture and commitment to the best patient safety practices. Dr. Herman joining the Mentavi leadership team comes at an exciting time of growth and new opportunities.”

Brophy adds: “Dr. Herman has a wealth of experience that will be beneficial to the growth of our company. He has a track record of building and leading global teams, developing and executing strategic plans, and overseeing development programs. Dr. Herman has had a lifelong commitment to improving the lives of patients and their families. This represents a huge step forward in validating our model of assessment, diagnosis and treatment online, upholding the highest standards of clinical care.”

Keith Boswell, VP of Marketing of Mentavi Health, Inc., adds: “Dr. Herman, with his industry-leading expertise, joins us at a key time in Mentavi Health’s growth. We’re so excited to have his deep clinical and industry background added to our outstanding operational team. The entire industry is navigating a national medication shortage. For patients on medication, this can impact their access to care based on the fulfillment capabilities of pharmacies.”

“ADHD Online has been working to better assist patients in navigating this and has recently expanded support capabilities to enhance this aspect of the patient journey,” Boswell added. “We also continue to improve our overall patient onboarding, service, messaging and engagement. Dr. Herman can provide rigorous clinical guidance, oversight, and ensure we’re following best practices across that entire journey.”
