Welcome to

ADO Medical

We’re here to partner with you
on the care of our mutual patients.

After taking our clinically rigorous assessment, your patient was diagnosed with ADHD. One of our clinicians has been meeting with them via telehealth appointments and prescribing medication.

With the upcoming end of the Public Health Emergency (PHE), we look forward to partnering with you on the continued care of our mutual patient.

Our Mutual Patient:

a backstory

During the pandemic
We prescribed ADHD medications to thousands of patients with ADHD, including our mutual patient, following a clinically rigorous assessment and diagnosis. Under the PHE, in-person visits were not required during the pandemic.

After the pandemic
As of May 11, pre-pandemic rules will be back in place and telemedicine companies will not be able to prescribe controlled substances without an in-person appointment on file. This would include many medications typically prescribed to individuals diagnosed with ADHD and other mental health disorders.

Our mutual patient has expressed their desire to continue receiving treatment from us via telemedicine visits. To continue offering them the best possible care and comply with current regulations, we look to partner with you.

PHE UPDATES

On February 24, 2023, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) released its proposed rules for telemedicine and controlled medications.

Existing patient on controlled substance
If you are a current telemedicine patient prescribed a controlled substance prior to May 10, 2023, the DEA requires you to have a qualified referral on file no later than Nov 7, 2023, in order to continue treatment.

New patient after May 10, 2023
For a new patient after May 10, 2023, who wants telemedicine service to treat their ADHD, the DEA requires you to have a qualified referral on file before initiating treatment. This requirement also applies to a current telemedicine patient who is considering initiating new treatment with controlled substances.

Our rigorous, 250+ question assessment uses reactive logic, patterned after the clinically comprehensive and thorough in-person assessment. We currently offer medical treatment in 40 states.

How

We Operate

If you are looking to know more about us before you complete our attestation form, this list of what we do, and do not do, should answer your questions about our practices.

Overall

WE DO

  • Have a specific process and network of doctorate-level psychologists to review and diagnose assessments. A separate process and network of clinicians handle treatment
  • Prioritize the health and wellbeing of our patients above all else

  • Conduct thorough background checks and extensively vet all providers.
  • Ensure all providers are licensed to practice in the state where they treat our patients

WE DO NOT

  • Compensate providers based on the number of prescriptions they write
  • Use any type of subscription model

Assessments

WE DO

  • Offer a rigorous assessment with up to 250+ questions using reactive logic, following many of the same paths as an in-person assessment.
  • Work with doctorate-level psychologists to analyze assessments and provide a clinical ADHD diagnosis consistent with DSM-5 criteria or a diagnosis of exclusion.
  • Offer assessment services in all 50 states
  • Partner with each patient’s medical team, sharing clinical details and
summaries of patient activity with you at the patient’s request and approval. No other organization in the industry prioritizes collaboration and partnership like we do.
  • Separate diagnosis and treatment. The psychologist who reviews a patient’s assessment and provides the diagnosis or exclusion is not the clinician who develops or manages the patient’s treatment plan.
  • Affiliate with any pharmacy. Prescriptions are written for the patient to take to the local pharmacy of their choice.
  • Audit and identify inappropriate client behavior, screening all patients against their State’s controlled substance database and immediately discharging any patients who exhibit substance-seeking behaviors.

WE DO NOT

  • Not require a subscription. Patients pay as they go for each individual treatment appointment. No subscription or commitment is required.
  • Incentivize providers based on the number of positive ADHD diagnoses they deliver
  • Provide a diagnosis when it is not warranted based on the patient’s assessment
  • Diagnose patients based only on a 15 or 30 minute telehealth visit, they must take the assessment and receive an ADHD diagnosis

Treatment

WE DO

  • Contract with MDs, DOs, and APPs who develop personalized treatment plans in 40 states who are licensed to practice in state where the patient resides
  • Treat anxiety and depression as well as ADHD
  • Prescribe stimulant and non-stimulant medication to treat ADHD
  • Require patients to be seen live via a video visit to develop their medication treatment plan and all required follow-up visits

WE DO NOT

  • Contract with Advanced practice providers (APPs), including nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) where they are not permitted to prescribe controlled substances
  • Treat bipolar disorders, schizophrenia or similar mental health disorders
  • Push patients towards medication if
it is not the right path for them, we do not incentivize prescribing any particular medication or mandate a particular course of treatment
  • Consider emails, chats and phone calls as a telehealth visit

Prescriptions

WE DO

  • Require all patients to sign a controlled substance agreement
  • Require patients to request refills
every 30 days
  • Routinely discharge patients if they divert medication, obtain prescriptions from other providers, or otherwise violate the controlled substance agreement
  • Require that all providers check state Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMP) prior to submitting prescriptions, including refills
  • Send nearly all of our prescriptions to brick and mortar pharmacies

WE DO NOT

  • Allow double dipping or other diversion behavior
  • Prescribe antipsychotic medication
  • Have an in-house or white label pharmacy
