Anxiety and ADHD

Anxiety can be more challenging for those with ADHD than those without. Screening for it alongside ADHD can lead to more individualized and effective treatment.

Top 5 things to know about Anxiety and ADHD

Nearly 50% of people with ADHD also have anxiety.

Anxiety symptoms tend to be more severe for those who are neurodiverse.

Distraction is a common symptom of both anxiety and ADHD. With anxiety, the distraction is caused by worry or fear. With ADHD, it can be anything.

While no single treatment can help both ADHD and anxiety, they can be treated separately but simultaneously.

Our ADHD Assessment screens for anxiety using a validated screening instrument and diagnostic-focused questions. The results of that screening are included in the final report so that the patient can discuss the best possible treatment options with their clinician.
