Who we are

At ADO Medical, we proudly partner with Primary Care Providers to bring our secure and comprehensive online ADHD Assessment, diagnosis, and Treatment to patients. Our rigorous, 250+ question Assessment uses reactive logic, patterned after the clinically comprehensive and thorough in-person assessment. Licensed psychologists analyze each Assessment and, if appropriate, provide a clinical diagnosis consistent with DSM-5 criteria. We offer Assessment services in all 50 states. We currently offer Treatment in 40 states.

How we operate

If you are looking to know more about us before you complete our referral form, this list of what we do, and do not do, should answer your questions about our practices.

Overall

WE DO

  • Have a specific process and network of licensed psychologists to review and diagnose Assessments and a separate process and network of clinicians for Treatment
  • Collect Vitals at every visit
  • Refer patients to in-person clinicians when medically appropriate.
  • Prioritize the health and wellbeing of our patients above all else
  • Conduct thorough background checks and extensively vet all providers
  • Encourage our patients to submit a referral from their in-person PCP

WE DO NOT

  • Compensate providers based on the number of prescriptions they write
  • Use any type of subscription model

Assessments

WE DO

  • Offer a rigorous Assessment with up to 250+ questions using reactive logic, following many of the same paths as an in-person Assessment.
  • Work with licensed psychologists to analyze Assessments and provide a clinical ADHD diagnosis consistent with DSM-5 criteria or a diagnosis of exclusion.
  • Offer Assessment services in all 50 states
  • Partner with each patient’s medical team, sharing clinical details and summaries of patient activity with you at the patient’s request and approval. No other organization in the industry prioritizes collaboration and partnership as we do.
  • Separate diagnosis and Treatment. The psychologist who reviews a patient’s Assessment and provides the diagnosis or exclusion is not the clinician who develops or manages the patient’s Treatment plan.
  • Affiliate with any pharmacy. Prescriptions are written for the patient to take to the local pharmacy of their choice.
  • Audit and identify inappropriate client behavior, screening all patients against their State’s controlled substance database and immediately discharging any patients who exhibit substance-seeking behaviors.

WE DO NOT

  • Require a subscription. Patients pay as they go for each individual Treatment appointment. No subscription or commitment is required.
  • Incentivize providers based on the number of positive ADHD diagnoses they deliver
  • Provide a diagnosis when it is not warranted based on the patient’s Assessment
  • Diagnose patients based only on a 15 or 30-minute telehealth visit

Treatment

WE DO

  • Offer personalized Treatment plans in over 40 states with clinicians who are licensed to practice in the patient’s state
  • Contract with MDs, DOs, and APPs
  • Treat anxiety and depression as well as ADHD
  • Prescribe stimulant and non-stimulant medication to treat ADHD
  • Require patients to be seen live via a video visit to develop their medication Treatment plan and all required follow-up visits

WE DO NOT

  • Contract with advanced practice providers (APPs), including nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs), where they are not permitted to prescribe controlled substances
  • Treat bipolar disorders, schizophrenia or similar mental health disorders
  • Push patients towards medication if 
it is not the right path for them
  • Consider emails, chats and phone calls as a telehealth visit

Prescriptions

WE DO

  • Require all patients to sign a controlled substance agreement
  • Require patients to request refills 
every 30 days
  • Routinely discharge patients if they divert medication, obtain prescriptions from other providers, or otherwise violate the controlled substance agreement
  • Require that all providers check state Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMP) prior to submitting prescriptions, including refills
  • Send nearly all of our prescriptions to brick-and-mortar pharmacies

WE DO NOT

  • Allow double dipping or other diversion behavior
  • Prescribe antipsychotic medication
  • Have an in-house or white-label pharmacy

About our Assessment
and diagnosis process

We designed our Assessment and diagnosis process to be accessible for patients without compromising clinical quality. Our Assessment is rigorous and comprehensive and each one is reviewed by a licensed clinician. Each Assessment involves the following:

Patient completes Assessment

Our comprehensive, dynamic Assessment typically takes 60-90 minutes to complete and can be done from the patient’s home and on their schedule.

Results delivered in 5 days

A licensed psychologist in the patient’s state will review the Assessment and provide an ADHD diagnosis or exclusion. The results and report are provided so that the patient can deliver them to their physician or choice of clinicians to discuss Treatment.

Initial visit with a clinician

Patients connect live with one of our clinicians typically within 7 days to set up a personalized treatment plan or can take their Assessment to their choice of clinicians to develop a Treatment plan.

The latest PHE UPDATES

August 2023

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have extended the Public Health Emergency (PHE) flexibilities that allow patients to receive medications without an in-person exam or referral. 

We highly recommend that all patients consider an annual physical examination and communicate regularly with their provider. An added bonus is that this proactive step can significantly expedite the prescription filling process at some pharmacies.

Curious about stimulant or non-stimulant approaches?

If you’re navigating ADHD or other mental health challenges, you have options. At Mentavi Health / ADHD Online, we assess what works for you. 
Some may start with non-medicated approaches like coaching or therapy.  In other cases, patients may explore medication treatment paths when warranted by diagnosis. For some diagnosed with ADHD, the treatment clinician may work with the patient to determine if stimulant approaches work best for them. Stimulant approaches are certain medications under medical treatment that are generally Class II controlled substances. Non-stimulant options are another approach that can work for many.  Medication approaches can be used in tandem with coaching or therapy. 
 
The key is starting with our diagnostic evaluation, which is reviewed by a qualified healthcare professional. Getting clarity on what you’re experiencing is the first step toward feeling more in control. From there, you and your treatment team can determine the best path—whether that’s coaching, therapy, medication, or a combination that works for your life.

Mentavi Health is conducting ADHD research and is accepting a limited number of participants. Participants in our clinical study will get an ADHD Assessment at no cost.

  • Not previously diagnosed with ADHD
  • Not a current patient of ADHD Online or Mentavi Health
  • A resident of any of the 50 US states or DC (not including Puerto Rico or other territories)
