Dr. Raafia Muhammad, MD, MPH

2 adhd online

Dr. Raafia Muhammad, MD, MPH, is ADHD Online’s Clinical Division Chief and Interim Chief Medical Officer. In that role, she manages ADHD Online’s clinical division and ensures that the care provided by ADHD Online’s psychologists, physicians and other professionals is the highest quality possible.

Dr. Muhammad’s approach to patient care has always been to empower her patients and provide them with clinical information about their ADHD — and any other mental health conditions that may be affecting them. Dr. Muhammad knows that, when properly understood and treated, ADHD can become a patient’s asset rather than a deficitShe enjoys creating an ongoing dialogue with her patients. She also is excited to see ADHD Online becoming a source for evidence-based practice in mental health and in telemedicine care.

Dr. Muhammad is a board-certified general preventive medicine and public health physician. She completed her internship in general surgery at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. She completed her general preventive medicine and public health residency at the Texas Department of State Health Services, in Austin, Tex. Dr. Muhammad also earned a Master in Public Health with a concentration in disaster management from Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill. She also completed a two-year research fellowship position in cardiovascular medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Muhammad lives in Cypress, Tex., with her husband and their 6-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter. When she’s not working, she’s usually spending time with her family — her parents, brother, and sister all live with 10 minutes of each other. She also enjoys cooking and baking and watching true crime documentaries.
