Information for

Primary Care Providers

About ADHD Online

We believe in timely and affordable assessment and treatment of ADHD. We designed our process to make care accessible without compromising clinical quality or cutting corners. Treatment for ADHD and related mental health conditions should be part of a coordinated, team-based care approach, so we share our assessments and treatment notes with our patients’ primary care teams.

How We Operate

Tele-Mental Health Providers are not all alike. If you are looking to refer your patients to us for assessment and possibly treatment, it is important that you know more about us and understand what sets us apart. This list of what we do, and do not do, will help answer your questions about our practices.

Our Company

What We Are

  • We are a web-based healthcare company that offers patient-paid ADHD assessments and medical and behavioral health treatment services.  Our fees may be reimbursable by our patients’ health plans/HSA/FSA.
  • An in-depth, reactive-logic-driven assessment of up to 250 questions that focuses on the specific needs of each client.
  • We are a teletherapy company that, when patients choose us to be their telehealth medical treatment provider, are able to send prescriptions to their pharmacy of choice for fulfillment within their PBM coverage.

What We Aren’t

  • We are not a subscription-based medication management company.
  • We do not ask 6-10 overly-simplified questions designed to expedite enrollment in a prescription service.
  • We do not have an in-house or white-label pharmacy nor do we have financial incentives with any pharmacies.

Our Providers

Who We Are

  • Doctorate-level psychologists review each assessment and provide a diagnosis or exclusion of ADHD based on DSM 5 criteria. We also provide feedback and insights for the patient that will assist with the next steps. Our psychologists are not incentivized to render any specific diagnoses, opinions, or recommendations for any specific courses of treatment.
  • Board-certified providers who are experts at medically treating ADHD and related conditions. They will create a treatment plan and refer back to a patient’s PCP if preferred or continue to see the patient for treatment.
  • Licensed/certified master’s level clinicians who meet with patients on a schedule determined by the patient. Virtual therapy can occur independent of or concurrent with medication treatment.
  • Our entire team works as a collaborative part of the patient’s global wellness team. At the patient’s request, we work hand-in-hand with primary care providers and other treatment professionals. We provide a range of involvement opportunities:
  1. assessment only
  2. assessment and treatment plan development
  3. assessment, treatment plan development and follow-up care, sharing our treatment details with the patient’s PCP

Who We Aren’t

  • A computer-scored test generating an automatic report based on very little information from the client. Generally, these are geared to push the client into a positive diagnosis with the goal of gaining a program subscriber.
  • A subscription service that requires patients to continue with us for all services once their diagnosis has been given.
  • A subscription service that requires monthly payments from patients regardless of the frequency of appointments.
  • A provider seeking to replace the patient’s existing care team for mental health treatment.

About Our Assessment & Diagnosis Process

We designed our assessment and diagnosis process to be accessible for patients without compromising clinical quality. Our assessment is rigorous and comprehensive and
each one is reviewed by a doctorate-level psychologist.
Each assessment involves the following:

Patient completes assessment

Our comprehensive, dynamic assessment typically takes 60-90 minutes to complete and can be done from the patient’s home and on their schedule.

The low $149 fee is paid by the patient (eligible for FSA/HSA coverage) and we provide assistance for the patient to receive insurance reimbursement if requested.

Results delivered in
3-5 days

A doctorate-level psychologist in the patient’s state will review the assessment and provide an ADHD diagnosis or exclusion. The results and report are provided so that the patient can deliver them to their provider to discuss treatment.

Initial Visit with a Clinician

Patients connect via livestream with one of our clinicians typically within 7 days to set up a personalized treatment plan or can take their assessment to their choice of clinicians to develop a treatment plan.
